I took a line from General Rules and this is how it looks.

You are not allowed to tell a member that they broke the rules, instead please report the thread and the staff will deal with it.

I think it should be changed so that we could warn a member that he broke the rule but still we should report it.
In most cases they will edit the post so that it would comply with the rules.
In that way staff can work with more urgent maters.
Addition to this only one member can warn thread creator as when 10 members will post that you broke the rules then it will be considered as spam.
Good way to get members involved in WJ

There is nothing wrong with the rule.

There is something wrong with people who fail to follow a rule of a society.

It may end with fines, suspension from the community or prison sentence in the worst case. Thus, infraction, a warning and a ban.

Small modification in the rule would end up taking useless load off your back.

I understand, but as I said, people ignore this rule already, so it is virtually useless at this moment.

I will let an admin have the last word regarding a change of a rule.

All i would like to see is that one member should be allowed to post a warning.
That way the thread maker could edit it.
Simple edit in the rule could help out the staff.
Lets hope that Admins will atleast consider it.

You will only unleash spam...

I personally pointed out (not warned, that is exaggerating) that something isn't allowed, or similar. Topic either got deleted, or OP changed what had to be changed, and thanked. There is no need that someone gets infraction or be punished, if people can be involved in community.
I think rule is cool, and at least, we aren't getting punished for mini mods...
Rules need to be tighten, to at least get similar what you wanted with them. If you lower the standard, you will get chaos. Just like IRL.
I mean, some rules can be bent, avoided, twisted...but they have to be in place, or else...you don't want to know..

hmm after going over all the topics in News and Announcements i found a direct conflict.
If you take a look on general rules point six then you will see this.

You are not allowed to tell a member that they broke the rules, instead please report the thread and the staff will deal with it.

But when you take a look in this thread made by El_J www.wjunction.com/2-news-announcements/37439-report-bad-posts.html then this is what you get

We've noticed that some members like to "mini-mod", we do appreciate that you're trying to let other members know about the rules and that you went over the rules yourself, however, it would be also helpful if you report the post after you mini-mod or instead of mini-modding.

This way you'll help staff to solve any issue quickly.

So one post will tell you that you cant mini-mod and other thread will let you know that its ok to mini-mod if you report the post after your done.

So whos right and whos wrong then.

Rules do change over a period of time
Now since http://www.wjunction.com/2-news-announcements/45709-wjunction-rules.html (You are not allowed to tell a member that they broke the rules, instead please report the thread and the staff will deal with it.) is posted after the other thread so i think it should be taken into action and i support it too :)
