Hi guys

I don't think this is relevant to Warez but I need a little info from any experienced or anyone that knows anything about my problem has my host doesn't seem to want to help and he is taking ages to reply and I need my site back a.s.a.p. due to it being down for a week now :(

Right I have a image hosting site on a VPS and we had our server upgraded so we were given new IP's form the datacenter etc...

So I was sent an email with the info to upadte my resolv.conf file and update my domain with the new IP's. So I changed the info in SSH using Putty, restarted the named and rebooted my VPS 3 times and still the url doesn't work. So I updated my nameservers again and checked in whm to see if they matched and they do. The next option I was given was instead of using my original nameservers:

ns1.shareyourimages.org
ns2.shareyourimages.org

I was told to change my nameservers to:

ns3.shareyourimages.org
ns4.shareyourimages.org

Done this and still doesn't work, so I'm lost, my domain is updated very quickly when I originally changed from my crap host I was using to this host who has been very good since transferring. Am I being a little inpatient (over a week now)?

The strange thing is that using the IP like so:

66.90.75.105/~shareyou/index.php

The site is there, but through the url I can't access it. Now where I work I get the following error when going to the site via the url:

"Background: The gateway could not receive a timely response from the website you are trying to access. This might indicate that the network is congested, or that the website is experiencing technical difficulties."

To me this looks like it's not the url:confused:

Can any of you guys give me any info.

Thanks :)

CheckDNS.NET is verifying if NS are alive
Error fetching SOA from ns4.shareyourimages.org [66.90.75.106]: Connection reset. Probably DNS server is offline.
Error fetching SOA from ns3.shareyourimages.org [66.90.75.105]: Connection reset. Probably DNS server is offline.
0 server(s) are alive
No DNS servers alive, tests stopped
In WHM check your SOA record and make sure the name server is ns3.yourdomain.com Then check and see that you have the right ip address in the rest of the fields. After that go to your domain registrar and make sure your name servers are registered properly.

Here is a screenshot of how I have mine setup for the US hosting that I added yesterday.

How do I register my own name servers?
To create your own name servers for a domain registered by Dynadot, follow these steps:
  1. Log into your Dynadot account.
  2. Click on the "Domains" tab.
  3. Click on the "Name Servers" subsection link.
  4. Look for the phrase, "Register a domain name server". It should be inside a blue box. Click on this link.
  5. Enter the host name (ns1.mydomain.com, for example) in the text box labeled "Host Name".
  6. Enter the IP address for the name server in the text box labeled "IP Address".
  7. Click the "Submit" button.

Ok it was set as ns1.shareyourimages.org

I have changed it to:

Code:
ns3.shareyourimages.org

But I get the following error:

Error reloading bind on william: rndc: connect failed: 127.0.0.1#953: connection refused.
Reconfiguring Local Mail: [checkmx] Unable to resolve shareyourimages.org to an ip address. Forcing changes because always accept has been forced.

Zone Modified!

Is this right?

And if you goto the url I get:

Background: This error indicates that the gateway could not find an authoritative DNS server for the website you are trying to access.

Source: DNS problem

Do this mean its updating?

I'm hosted with VPSEmpire. They have moved to a brand new facility but my VPS is hosted in FDC their old facility so I'm moving to there new facility. Hopefully all will be good later, you'll know if all is good as my 3 userbars in my sig will show ;)
