VideoKitt is a lightweight, self-hosted video hosting and HLS streaming platform in plain PHP (formerly HlsKitt). Upload a video, and VideoKitt turns it into adaptive HLS, copies it to your storage servers and streams it through a fast, protected player.


★ The core idea: upload once, your link never breaks

• Copies on many servers – every video is kept on as many storage servers as you choose: local disk, S3, FTP or SFTP.
• One link that never changes – viewers always use the same watch or embed link, even if you rename the video.
• Player fails over by itself – if a server goes down, the player switches to another copy.
• Auto-heal – a broken copy is rebuilt from a good one, with no re-upload and no re-encode.
• Re-convert without re-uploading – process a video again later; the new version goes live with no downtime.
