Hey WJunction community,

In this thread, I’ll be reviewing various video hosters based solely on my personal experience and their technical performance. All reviews reflect my own opinion, and I will not be evaluating based on PPV rates or payout models.

What I will focus on:
  • Video quality & encoding settings
  • Encoding speed/duration
  • Supported upload methods
  • Upload speed
  • Video manager / dashboard usability
  • Player design & functionality
  • Storage limits (if any)
  • Ads shown across different earning levels
  • Premium webmaster features (if available)

Video Quality​

09/10 – Abyss encodes every video in H.264 (1080p/720p/480p) and AV1 (1080p), offering multi-quality playback. It also supports 4K uploads. All encodes come with high bitrate and seem to use a slow preset, which is excellent for quality. AV1 is GPU-encoded via NVIDIA cards.

Encoding Speed​

03/10 – Encoding follows this order: 480p → 720p → 1080p (H.264) → 1080p (AV1). If you're lucky, 720p is ready within 5 minutes, but AV1 encodes can take 4–7 days. Encoding is generally very slow, likely due to a lack of encoding servers.

Supported Upload Methods​

07/10 – ZOOM uploader is available, but no FTP support. They offer limited remote uploads, web uploads, and an API.

Upload Speed​

06/10 – Web uploads start fast (~1 Gbit/s), but speed throttles significantly after 3–5 files. Link generation takes time, and there’s no support for parallel uploads on the web interface.

Video Manager (Panel)​

04/10 – It's difficult to select multiple files quickly. There's no Shift or Ctrl+Click support, so selecting files individually is tedious. Search works fine, but not during file-moving operations—you'll need to scroll or use Ctrl+F. The panel feels very outdated.

Player Design & Functionality​

07/10 – Abyss uses the standard JW Player with very limited customization. It includes an ugly download speed display (shows in kb/s). You can only add a watermark (for referrals) and your own ads if you pay for the bandwidth used. Otherwise, you can’t tweak much.

Storage Limits​

10/10 – No storage limits, and files never expire. This is a huge plus.

Ads​

09/10 – Only 1–2 popunders every 10–20 minutes. There are no ad-level tiers. If you pay for your traffic, you can remove all ads.

Premium Webmaster Features​

02/10 – Paying for traffic unlocks minimal features: basic player settings and ad removal. There's no prioritized encoding, enhanced analytics, or other tools you'd expect from a premium package.


Summary:
Abyss.to offers great video quality, multi-codec support, and unlimited storage with no file expiration. However, it falls short in several areas: extremely slow encoding, outdated file manager, no FTP, and limited customization. The platform could be great with better infrastructure and more features for power users.

Video Quality​

07/10 – Free users can choose between 480p, 720p, and 1080p. With a premium plan, multi-quality encoding becomes available. The 1080p quality is very solid, with good encoding settings (second best after Abyss, in my opinion). Filemoon uses the standard H.264 codec.

Encoding Speed​

09/10 – Encoding is very fast. 1080p takes 2–3 minutes, and lower resolutions (720p/480p) usually finish in under 2 minutes. Multiple qualities are often encoded in parallel. However, if you don't have a premium account your videos may stay in queue for a couple of minutes. Great performance overall.

Supported Upload Methods​

10/10 – Filemoon supports every common upload method, including FTP, remote upload, ZOOM, web, and API.

Upload Speed​

09/10 – Upload speeds are excellent on a 1 Gbit/s RDP. On 10 Gbit/s connections, performance sometimes caps below full speed – understandable and still solid.

Video Manager (Panel)​

09/10 – Very modern and user-friendly panel. The file system is intuitive, and settings are highly customizable. Free users have some limitations, but overall it's a great interface.

Player Design & Functionality​

09/10 – Filemoon uses a heavily customized JW Player with a cleaner and more professional look compared to the default style. As a Webmaster you can adjust colors and add your own watermark.

Storage Limits​

09/10 – 40 TB of storage, and files never expire! Additional storage is available at $4 per TB, which is reasonable.

Ads Shown​

09/10 – According to Filemoon:
  • 100% Earnings: 3 popunders + 1 interstitial per page
  • 0% Earnings: 1 popunder per page
This setup is fair and gives you control over monetization.

Premium Webmaster Features​

08/10 – Premium costs $30/month and includes:
  • Priority upload
  • Multi-quality encoding
  • Priority encoding
Good value for active uploaders and big streaming sites.


Summary:
Filemoon offers fast encoding, excellent upload options, a modern file manager, and fair premium pricing. It’s technically impressive and user-friendly on many levels. However, the host is run by an admin with a questionable history of abrupt shutdowns and deleted accounts – which severely hurts long-term trust. Use with caution if you're planning to build around this host.

Unfortunately, that's true. I cannot advise anyone to use this hoster.

Video Quality​

05/10 | You can choose between 1080p, 720p, 480p, and 360p. However, there's no multi-quality streaming option. Veev only uses MP4 instead of m3u8 for streaming, which can cause the player to crash if you skip around too much. That said, the 1080p encodes look very good.

Encoding Speed​

10/10 | Each video is encoded within 1–2 minutes – the fastest I’ve seen from any hoster, and it still maintains good quality!

Supported Upload Methods​

10/10 | All upload methods are supported.

Upload Speed​

04/10 | Upload speeds are quite limited. Often, you can't exceed 350 Mbit/s, even via FTP.

Video Manager​

10/10 | A modern dashboard with every setting you could ask for. You can even sign up for the revenue-sharing program directly from the panel. Managing videos on Veev is easy, the best experience I’ve had so far.

Player Design & Functionality​

09/10 | Veev uses a heavily customized version of the Plyr player. It looks clean and functions well. The only downside is the built-in report feature in the player – it would be better placed on the video page.

Storage Limits​

09/10 | Unlimited storage with a 60-day file retention period. After that, files are deleted. Overall, a fair system.

Ads Shown​

09/10 | There are five ad levels: No profit, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. You can't exactly tell how many ads each level includes, as it seems to depend on country or even IP. In my case, I got 1 popunder on "no profit" and 3 on "100% profit." That’s reasonable.

Premium Webmaster Features​

--/10 | No official premium features are available. If you have significant traffic, you might get non-expiring files, but that's not publicly accessible and therefore not reviewable.


Summary:
Veev.to is a solid video hosting platform with incredibly fast encoding, a powerful and intuitive video manager, and attractive ad options. While upload speeds are lacking and the lack of adaptive streaming can be annoying, its clean interface and affiliate program make it worth considering for webmasters. Especially impressive: encoding speed and the ease of use in the dashboard.
