I just had an one-of-a-kind thing happen with UploadRocket.
You know their DCMA policy which emphases the "good faith" and allegedly deletes files "within 24 hrs"? Well I found out the hard way it ain't true.
As implied by admin himself on Skype, it's "semi-automatic" in that some requests are automatically processed and files deleted.
Now, I uploaded 3 files and posted them on my site without any prior affiliation with UploadRocket.
After a hour, the files were gone and links led to messages about them being deleted by admin because of DCMA.
Having no coverage for the host previously, it's curious how something like this can happen.
My best guess is that indeed legit origin webcrawlers go through Google-indexed pages and in case of UploadRocket, the latter responds automatically whenever this more sophisticated webcrawler bot puts through DCMA complaint.
Sounds almost surreal, but that's the only way I can explain this.
Be very cautious, people. This is not something to be sneezed at.
