Just thought i'd post this.
To all graphics and web designers.

Stop under pricing your work. I see some people selling templates at $10, A decent single page template is easily worth $40. Believe it or not, for some of us, this is how we make money. If you underprice your work, not only do you not get what you deserve, but it makes customers believe that is the "right" price for the job.

Of course, I am assuming that you are "good", and don't suck like half the graphics and webdesigners on this forum.

Also, to clients. Don't expect the same price from someone who has just started graphics/web designing as someone who has been in the game for over a year. The price may be greater, but so is the quality. How many beginners will give you xhtml strict pages?

Anyway, just thought I'd say that.

You are right mate..but thats how it is the market..the less money you spend the more you will buy..so it is in design / programming world..there are 1million forums worldwide(maybe billions) but all of them use free/shared forums,scripts,designs,themes..don't mention the nulled/cracked ones..

So when selling at low prices u have more possibilities to sell actually..

I wouldn't really worry, people who sell templates for 10$ usually sell shit.

As chaotic as things are, people still know what a good graphics work is worth.
 
Haha, yeah that is a good argument, but when you consider the amount of time to make something decent, paying a measly $10 is simply not enough. Also, you have more possibilities to sell at a lower price if you sell a product, not a service. I'm talking to people who sell their services here :)
 
well this is what we call competition....this has always happend and will always happen a simple example will be soft-drink companies like pepsi and coke when pepsi drops the price coke drops it more ....this is how the business goes on so you should get over it

There are many great gfx guys who are selling nice designes with 10$
And if there is one guy selling with 10$ and you are selling with 40$ then yeah i will go with the first one.

You need to understand that its business.
Cheaper price WILL sell.

You can sell one designe with 40$ in a week but these guys will sell 20 designes with 10$ in a week.

So in the end they will make more $$$ then you and thats business 101

You need to understand this is NOT a business for 99.9999999% of the people here. It is a hobby.

Example: I sell a butt-ton of websites inexpensive online, but, my business is offline.

Some people just want a little fun, practice and to kill some time. No need to complain if they sell inexpensive.
 
I know what you mean by business, but I do not see it that way. You just look at it as any sale for profit. I don't see it that way. I look at business as a occupation or profession. Neither of which is here, for the most part. Most people here are just doing this for a hobby.

I do understand what you mean though.
 
What a load of bullshit. Anyone can charge what ever they want. You cannot dictate or tell anyone what to do. Hitler, Fidel Castro, Jesus, Saddam Hussein all tried this and ended up being killed.

Your selling it in a market place and have to compete. If people like your work they'll pay more but you've no right to say what others should and shouldn't charge.

Seriously if you on WJ to make money your in the wrong place. This site is aimed at people who run and operate warez sites. Warez sites, encase you don't know, try and bring free stuff to the general public. They provide content for free you normally have to pay for and your trying to convince these people to pay more and increase prices for stuff?
 
Yeah, most warez webmasters are in a sharing type of environment, not profit.
Now, they don't wanna get ripped off by high priced designers. 8-)

Thats what i have told you guys all the time.
People are here to help out fellow members.
Yeah most things are not for free but still they try to keep it as low as they can.
And now some guy is talking shit that you need to sell it with higher price then well GTFO.
Use google and you will find many places where to sell your gfx with bigger $$$
