The title says pretty much everything. I just saw a guy posting his shit spam in all the boards. Just limit 1 thread/day for probation users and we will be sorted. It will be much easier to clean. I know its not a solution but will at least limit the spam?
What say?

1 thread may be a little much.

Perhaps start 1 thread, participate in 5? Or perhaps have an automated 'report' tracking facility so that if a probation user is 'reported' by 2+ people, they can no longer post?

If that's too difficult, then sure, limit thread contributions to like 1 or 2. Sounds easy enough.

I think it's better to not allow probation to post threads till they become members .
it will be better as the spammers will register alot of time if they wanna Spam :P

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but you must be a spammer to have thought of that :-).

It is a very good point though. However, restricting the number of threads they can start to say, 1 or 2, would already be a deterrent to 'spam' as the time it takes to register E-Mail addresses and so forth may not be worth the hassle. That being said, probation members have to type in a captcha to post so perhaps they are willing to 'invest' that time.

What may be a prudent course of action would be to restrict the posting of threads to 1 a day, and see how it goes. If it doesn't stop them, ban them until they become full members!

@CJ: Watch porn? Come'on they do have a life and are not paid to do their job! Lets try to make their jobs a little easier?

We mods have this tool to kick out the spammers. >_>

Everyone has a life, but it's your consumption and alternatives of what you do with your free time, thus society considers you to be a cool guy or just someone which is considered a no life. I mean look at this guy, I'm sure he was cool in school or college. I wonder how many people that went to school with him... feel like complete idiots? lol. This isn't really regarded to your post, I'm just saying that moderators are appointed but voluntarily and they agree to those terms, right? Nothing wrong with that if it's what the job requires.

 Haha I know but I had to tease. I attend college for 17 credit hours and will be returning from leave in October working my M-F job, forty hours a week. On top of this I have been working on some side projects :)

Modding a new members first 10 to 30 post is really hard to do on a forum with 1500+ members posting daily this would be so much easier to do on a forum with 250 members posting or less
