Is there a way to stop / an auto posters

i have limited the groups to max posting per day to 20 still the CPU load goes over 10 most of the time i am in powerful VPS

Is there a way i can make a group enter captcha every time when they create a new post

Any mod ?

I use ipb 3.1.4

Webmaster with warez forums and load of ads hmmm i dont want to waste my time to search other post but i can probably find some post where you crying about "pour speed" on fsc or fs etc. B-)
 
Ban their accounts, blacklist the IP addresses. Once done, put in a captcha. Then put in a wait time limit of 60 seconds. Once done, move on to that rule modification. Once done, take away permissions from regular users to post threads, only give thread posting perms to uploaders.

These uploaders should be real uploaders who you interview and scrutiny before promoting them. One mistake and demote them permanently. Sure you'll have less content, but you won't have crappy content ;)

Is there something that can be done for vBulletin for this? Can we just ban the user agent for the autoposter via htaccess?

I post porn in 4 forums, and I have has messages off admins asking if I am using a autoposter, as I post very fast, mainly because I copy the Post from my blog, these autoposters are very annoying as they post like crazy, and they think doing this will make them a lot of cash, maybe it does for a select few people, who actually visits the sites after posting, but most of them do not even view posts on the sites, they just post.

The main way of banning them is to add a capcha.
 
Rename a file the autoposter will load but no normal member will.

Then add a virus to the orignal file :P (or log members loading it & ban them)
 
On waz-warez ucp.php isnt used for login, i edited the filename throughout the whole script so no one except bots will load the file.

Now anyone trying to login using ucp.php is certainly a bot & they can be banned.


Use the list to ban people on your site, its growing a lot faster than i thought it would :P
