What really got Megaupload screwed:

- Emails were found where key members of MU were discussing warez contents of people's uploads.

- MU did not delete copyrighted files when they were reported.

There is something called SAFE HARBOUR which basically protects you as a website owner of being prosecuted if 1. You did not know there were copyrighted files on your system and 2. When notified of a copyrighted file on your system you remove it.

There are many ways to turn a respectable profit off of file hosting. And your budget is more then sufficient to start turning a respectable profit. First step will be incorporation, yes that means setting up a limited liability corporation. Or something similar in your country of residence. Now as far as advertising revenue that is easily achieved. PM me for further details, though Ill be upfront if you are not from the West or a select few Asian countries you will have a very rough road ahead. Not being disrespectful but most advertising networks look towards non Western countries as if they have aids.

Please no more affiliate program.. Cause one or the another day you will be f****d off...
  1. Just build a stable host like Mediafire.
  2. Design, premium prices are fully your choice but please please please take advice the internet & uploaders market before you introduce a premium plan.
  3. Pay only for premium sales & for nothing else.
  4. Go to a good lawyer & just research too much to guard yourself from US, FED's & the country's DMCA where you're going to have your server & the domain.
  5. Use some unique domain. (We're sick of .com .net .org .ws. in. .to) [refer to 101domains.com to see the domain name list & choose wisely. Buying from them or not is totally your choice]
  6. And represent a good support agent, who doesn't hide his a** like Ricky & Hish X-(
 
Alright but where is the script you talking about?
Another thing is DMCA could be Handel you just need a email address for that, also the rule has DMCA files delete within 48hrs. So no issue.
But what you pay for downloads - If you pay money you will be caught for money laundering. If you pay by points they you need something like rapidshare SHop. Fucking disgusting... well, if you higher your point ex-changer thenn good!
 
If you start a filehost make files to be download via ip (each member when upload a file need to add a ip of people who want to download that file) That mean secure .
 
i think so you can at the beginning make a pps plan and point system for the others so you can earn at the beginning of your filehost

I don't think so. For example, lets say RS gives point system to generate premium accounts. A uploader worked hard to collect the points and he can sell it for any price. Its his property.
