WORKS WITH EVERYTHING THAT USES DNS! INCLUDING XBOX 360 + PS3

Code:
http://code.google.com/p/namebench/

Try out namebench. It hunts down the fastest DNS servers available for your computer to use. namebench runs a fair and thorough benchmark using your web browser history, tcpdump output, or standardized datasets in order to provide an individualized recommendation. namebench is completely free and does not modify your system in any way. This project began as a 20% project at Google.

namebench runs on Mac OS X, Windows, and UNIX, and is available with a graphical user interface as well as a command-line interface.

Enjoy :) I gained 45% speed.

Thanks is always appreciated!

Step 1. Download NameBench

Step 2. Run NameBench

Step 3. Look at the top right of your HTML log, and in the box where it says "recommended configuration (fastest and nearest)" note the top 2 servers

Step 4. Use the first two DNS from step 3 with the following guide

Windows XP:

Windows Vista:

It is not speeding up. I checked my internet speed from www.Scanmyspeed.com before and after doing this. There is no difference in my internet speed.

Anyone else don't get screwed up with this.

This will only work 'faster' because it uses caching. This is useless if you use Opera or Chrome.

Just use GoogleDNS, it's one of the best. No need to find a DNS server near your location.

This works, DNS Server is the gate to solve domain name. If you are going to browsing faster try to use the fastest one. It is this software do. Google DNS is prettey fast, but checking another possibility is a good idea, many times the best way to get a better connection.
I think it will not affecting download or upload speed.. but who knows.. :D

Edit: I try it, and it is useless ..
Error, and etc.. bla2..

How can improve speed if the internet service provider has been limit the speed by user

you can increase internet speed if you have some software can by passing the limit from provider

until now the are no software can do that... this only dns caching..will be call back cache that make fill your speed is fast but ..the fact will still same

For those who's Internet is not optimized, changing settings might work. Also Google or OpenDNS might speed up looking up dns.

Thread is kinda old, I guess no one will bring something new to the table.
