I recently got samsung 40inch samsung LED TV and I compared a lot before buying. Samsung is ahead of sony in terms of LED TVs and

I had a Sony Bravia LCD, I now have a Samsung Smart LED... Both are quite equally as good for what I use it for.

I don't own either of the two, but I would prefer Sony over the two. I have a Panasonic HDTV.

I have Samsung, it's pretty good but I'm not a fanboy.

Either way, you cannot go wrong with this one, both Samsung and Sony make awesome TV's.
