Something seems wrong with 1Gbps dedicated port providers

This thought came to me recently. I asked how many clients 100tb.com has and they have over ten thousand clients. That means they have over 10000x 1Gbps Dedicated Port servers but Softlayer only has a little bit over 1.5Tbps of overall network. Isn't it oversold something? Explain me if I'm missing something.

Maybe its an off peak type of dedicated? I mean Im sure like 0.1% of people who say 1GBit dedicated only get the off peak/on peak setup

It's the cloud data centers. I think each data center has the 1.5Tbps if that is accurate.

100tb dont even provide you with 100mbps dedicated port,i had purchase 5 server with them and i had to cancel all of them due to their low connectivity,hell i was only getting 5mbps on a 1gbps line,

while i get avg 20mbps on my 100mbps line

and about their 10000 clients,thats bullshit,hell they would not even have more then 150 clients

if they have less than 150 customers, they wouldnt hire more staff for 24/7 hour support, i emailed them couple time at 2AM in the morning Eastern Time and usually got a response around 15 min later.
i never tried their service, im tempting to do so

FTP to Fileserve is always 1.5 - 3.0 MB/sec I don't use FTP. It's wack man I recommend using ZOOM File Uploader 5 and only that. Sorry.

100tb is obviously oversold. Because if you see softlayer bandwidth is shit expensive but 100tb offer 100tb bandwidth you could see the difference. I believe 100tb has thousands of clients, that's for sure.

It's careful overselling. HostGator offers 'unlimited' BS on all its shared hosting packages - how do they do it?

Take that form of overselling, multiply it a dozen times and you'll know how they manage it. Not every customer uses 1gbps on full burst 24 hours a day. They bank on that fact.

Not really not they have DCs of THEPLANET so i guess bandwidht have increased + LifeTalks point

Well, having the DCs of theplanet also mean having their customers so, not much difference problem, still they're overselling I guess.

They've been in business for a good few years now. You shouldn't be worried about how they oversell. They do it good. You're in good hands.

And also they design their hardware in such a way that you cannot pull out more than 50-60TB bandwidth.
Eg: If you have raid you can get better speeds, but they charge you 50$ for raid so that most of the users can avoid it.
