A sitemap enables crawlers to visit your website's all urls at one place and it helps them to crawl the all urls. So it increases the indexing probability of your web pages in Google. However, it won't make any side effect on your website(if it is is properly interlinked) if you don't add a sitemap.

Shit man, Google wont give any useful result for such a Subject oriented query. And that was not needed here. He asked for genuine idea from members

nope, you can submit the same sitemap to every search engine.
add your sitemap in google webmaster tools, so you can check the number of indexed URLs.
