Sitemap for google

Anyone know the best place for generating a sitemap for google etc, sites like www.xml-sitemaps.com only allow up to 500 links to be added

You can use an application for it, the one that I know of is "A1 Sitemap Generator".

If your sitemap is too big (more than 500 as you said above) and your site isn't very fast, Google will timeout on the sitemap page and thus not index anything at all.

it runs on vbulletin and i'll look for an application to generate one as online ones seem to limit it thats defeating the purpose of creating one really

Ofcourse. Sitemap is probably the most important thing for SEO, after keywords and all that. If you want to be top at google, sitemap and a robots.txt file is necessary.

Hmm.. I most modern engines can handle dynamic URL's though.

But I will make an effort to do a sitemap and robots configuration
