Do you really need a dedicated server?

From your reply it looks like the project is in its initial stage and will take some time to be big.Than I would say you should go with Indian shared hosting lots of hosting provider are their but certainly it is costly to host a website in India.Save some bucks initially and than move to server/VPS once it grow big.

You will always get less bandwidth at very high price in India.Again if it is all for Indian users than having local
hosting is better , less latency means fast loading which is always a plus point for website. Also search engine does account location but I can say how much it is valued if compared with importance of content quality.

So yes you can go for Indian hosting but starting small and scaling once you become big is the way in my opinion.

Server location is not really that important, but where you host your website is very important. In my point of view, choose .com as it gives worldwide credibility rather choosing country specific domain.

I dont think server location effects SEO.! If you're targetting indian traffic only then go for .In extension. If the site you're gonna make is legit then go for hostgator, They're fast but expensive!

No. Server locations are not important for SEO.
BTW, which kind of sites you want to create?
If you want to create a warez linking site, then US servers are a very bad choice for your site!

currently my work is development stage only and i really don't vps or dedicated server for my work shared hosting will do good for me and price is not an important factor for me right now for me only consideration is good uptime and good support with decent bandwidth and latency

Yes having .com is always good but having both is much better. You will have control on both country level search and global search.

nice suggestion will consider about this statement :)

One more thing if you are making something which is bandwidth intensive than please avoid Indian host.Try hosts in EU.

You will have to pay a hefty fees for 100Mbps port which is dirt cheap now a days in other places and 1Gbit port is just out of normal users reach in India as of now.

Then US servers are ok!
BTW, What's your requirements??
Storage, Bandwidth etc??

Storage : May be 50GB
Bandwidth : Unlimited

Server Specifications
OS: Linux or Windows Server 2008 R2
Ram: 24-32GB DDR3
Processor: Intel Xenon Processor CPU E5530 @2.40GHZ with Raid 10
