Server configuration for FileSharing site

Hi guys

I want to open a new file hosting and sharing website please help me in choosing my server species

someone has recommended this server configurations for the beginning of the website is it too much or just suitable for the beginning as i don't want to lose my money in the first months of the website
note "free and register download speed will be 500kb/s and upload speed not limit"

Chassis HP DL380p G8 Processors Intel E5-2650
Memory 32 GB PC3-12800R/PC3-14900R
Storage 4x 3TB SATA (6G)
Storage Intel 520/530 120GB SSD
Network Uplink 2x1 GB
Raid configuration best available
Incoming Bandwidth unmetered
Outgoing Bandwidth usage 25TB

Where is located your servers?
This configuration is ok for beginning.

This configuration is seriously stupid for a new file host.

You absolutely don't need that.

From my experience, break down into 2 servers

1. Main Server (where XFileScript Main Install)
E3-1230 or any quad core xeon
SSD Disk

2. File Server
Low End Quad Core XEON with a chasis supporting atleast 8 drive bays
SATA III Disks with hot swap in LVG (So you can upgrade easily)


This would cost lower than the E5. Also try to get a private LAN between these servers.

I would suggest you to go with server police's suggetion. I also thinks that way. Smal servers are better than one big server. get small servers with much storage.
