Santrex: Dont Buy Host From Santrex Because THere Servers iS not Secure

I bought Host From Santrex and they lost my data and says


First They Send MEssage in Ticket when i opend

We've had a major security risk yesterday at around midnight the 12th of April 2010, and we're currently recovering the losses.

We can not guarantee any data being intact, and in worst cases that data was lost.

This affected our Shoutcast, XEN, OpenVZ, proxy services, DDoS hosting and France hosting.

Please have some patience while we work on that, and we do apologize for the inconvenience caused by this incident.

We fully understand how important your data would be to you, and how much losses/efforts it will take to put everything back to normal again but we also are part of this losses as well as you, as of yesterday night we've been targeted by 0 day exploits that have wiped 75% of our servers including our onsite/offsite backup servers that resulted in severe downtime and losses.


As of today we've been working all day to restore what we can and to put the servers back online again, we really are sad as much as you are but also put in mind we've been put through hell all day to get this backup for you so since you've lost ALOT we also lost ALOT more.


We're willing to compensate you for all the losses, and be assured new plans will be taking place for super R1soft backups as well as seperate mysql server and plans to get clustering setup on France hosting with more secured plans.

I hosted at their french and NL servers
always over loaded!
many downtimes
support is totally ridiculous
doesn't deserve any cent you pay for them!
 
I'm sure it was secure, but somebody got by all the security. There were so many santrex sucks threads I'm suprised people from here still signup. Why did you not keep backups of your forum? Its part your fault if you lost all your data. Keep backups
 
In reall sense santrex is nt that bad. The thing is they are too big. They have more than enough customers & 1% Customers would definitly be disatisfied.

But this time the problem is big. They have lost all the data on their VPS & other services. Damn they are just losing more now.

From previous experience, ill rate santrex honestly - 1/10 ...

Support : 1/10 - they take AGES to reply back.
Sales staff : 10/10 - welcoming as hell ...
Issues arise ALL the time, and whenever something is wrong on their end, they'll ask for 10euros and attach KVM. Thats it!

Its all down to you with them.

Their prices are good, that is why every one is attracted to them, and in the end the whole "empire" is wiped within seconds ...

One of the most awful host ever. Their Staff is a bunch of noobs.
You can have an Idea how stupid they are by their replies... and they can't even secure their servers
 
well i had 2 vpses there a short while ago....when they say unmanaged they mean unmanaged.......they will only deal with the main server hardware problems but thats all u may get if that lol
 
When you signup for unmanaged do you expect them to manage the server? You should know about managing a server if you get unmanaged
 
They have a nice looking website with low prices. Some people do not know better before signing up or they think they will be the exception to bad service
 
Well I am sure, that back in the day, even if they offered unmanaged, they'd help out a client much further... But in my opinion this host runs just for profit and it amazes me how long they have lasted - till now :O and going further.

They are too big to help every little client with problems that are not paying for a managed server. Spend the extra for a managed server. Nothing wrong with a large host capitalizing on managed servers. They do not want to spend the extra resources on hiring more staff to help clients with problems on unmanaged servers not paying for managed

i agree totally

latest time i've tested an installation of Woltlab Burning Board (on a shared hosting - France location), i've crashed the server <_<

never view that, it's incredible :O
 
well santrex must have had great support when they started.. because without good reviews in the beginning they would never became so big...
 
I am using santrex for 10 months and working very well.I had a rapidleech installed, then moving servers,lost my rapidleech and change os from ubuntu server to centos. Centos template works horrible.
 
Santrex is not reseller of one brand but many. They are reseller of netdirekt, OVH etc.

They dont have servers of their own. They just lease & sell
