10:09 Exel What do you guys think of having a review team.
10:09 Ash A text review? Sure
10:09 Froomple review? as in - mini mod ?
10:10 Ash I've got a store near my home where anyone can come and checkout the phones
10:11 Froomple MobileStore? UniverCell?
10:11 Exel Nah, the review section.. have an official review team, people that actually take a look at every aspect of a website and review it. That way, the user actually gets a review and not just "i like it" or "it sucks"

A very good idea. The only thing that needs to be seen is if there are enough people with access to the devices.

EDIT: OMG, I was thinking of reviewing mobile phones and such. Just got to know that we are talking about reviewing websites :P

I think this is a good idea and i would be willing to join the team but some conditions would have to be met first:

People with less than 20 posts cant post in the review section.
Sites that are dead the review team have to report and thread will get trashed.
Sites that have had very little actually done to them get trashed (just throwing up a ipb board and premade skin i mean its pointless doing that then asking for a review).

I used to be very active in the review section till new people who have barely posted just threw up a crappy looking site that looks like everyone else's and expect us to review it. I got tired of every site looking the same and seeing people not even bother putting in any effort.

Great Idea i think it can be implemented what if the review team is assembled unofficially to see how the thing works then we can think of making it a official decision?

To be honest it seems like a good idea from first glance, but then when you think about it the amount of groups that have been added is going a little over board now, even when they added the GFX Group, even though I was one of the first promotions to this group, I feel like it is going to lead to more and more group additions. This review group sounds good tho but I hope if it is added then there is not new groups added for example "Web Hosters", "Respected Warez" or silly groups. As long as it is kept to strict groups then it will be a great add.

Yeah seems like a good idea.
However, I do agree with MrOSX, there does seem to be a lot of groups now. You'll run out of colours soon haha.

I don't mind giving it a shot though. Maybe I'll go through the Site Reviews section soon and throw some reviews in. :)

Eventually we would be only introducing groups which are actually required or prove to be required no silly groups would be introduced unless and until someone makes us go bongos :P

There is nothing wrong with creating groups that have a purpose. If there is a good idea for a group, then it should be created. We shouldn't restrain ourselves from creating new groups or additional things just because were worried about "running out of colors". We can be much more creative than that :).

As I said earlier I like this idea and think it's brilliant.

Nice idea, but when looking thru the site reviews forum, most of the sites which are posted for review just make you facepalm so much that your face gets numb.

Is there any point of having a team to review bullshit?

Not all of the sites are shit, we can't generalize the entire section based on those that are newbs. We have to innovate today for the future tomorrow.

Agree, as I usually do, with SJ on this. I used to review a lot of sites as people once cared. Now they tend to ask for a review after a logo or favicon change.

What about a way to highlight the sites that give a shit. If I was presented with 3 of the most promising or interesting sites of the week I'd be very interested and review them but I don't have the time or interest in looking through the 97 other poor ones.

If we had some type of system that highlighted the sites that put in effort these would probably get the decent reviews they deserve from everyone, not just members from a special group.

I do not see a point in having a special group for this activity. The point of endless groups will start off if we ever implement this idea.

We can ask the people who review to be specific though - words like awesome, sucks etc should be avoided. We could ask them to be more descriptive.

look at this reply http://www.wjunction.com/1831795-post11.htm

we have to remove these kinda stuff i like it or it sucks without giving any proper reason.
i think its a good idea but we dont need proper group since the amount of websites are not that much and quality wise as well rather i think few staff members should look at every thread posted in review section & give user honest review this way we will be generating Friendly environment also we will be feeding some sense to noobs.
it not bad to be noob only thing that sucks is when u gets stuck there..
