I created as I wanted to see how many other users support the idea.

So YAY !
 
As said by someone else earlier coders generally provide free code and stuff to the community.
Dman - various link checkers, scripts and more.
Hyperz - sharpleech and more
JmZ - WCDDL, Warezlinkers and more
litewarez - various tutorials, functions and more
SplitIce - icon decoder and more

Most of the GFX people charge for their work. Having this rank would probably help them get more sales. If you look at the coders group none of us ever charge for work or charge for our scripts and designs. EVER!

If GFX artists start providing lots of free PSD templates for people to edit then fine the group maybe warranted. At the moment it will just be a way for them to generate more money.

EDIT: Here's a challenge, can someone find me 5 GFX tutorials on this site by the same person which includes the PSD's?
 
Calm down Blaze..i think we need to just work around..people will know good gfx automatically. Like elio is known for his god like gfx but hes a mod.

Also if you check the Tutorials & Guide section and find threads started by me, you'd definitely see many tutorials by me related to centos & linux to be precise, as I myself do come across some server thingies :p so I need to find solutions on net. I look at them, edit them as to my preferences and the post them here and on tutsby.me

Yes, I do not have much GFX Tutorials at the moment, but I'd use to make gfx tuts long ago. Problem was that people would rip it and give no credits to me :( so I stopped.
 
I personally do not know of ANY GFXer here at wJ that is worthy of a title. All of them are pretty much crap compared to real pros. There may be 2 (max) exceptions that are OK but nothing good enough for a new usergroup.
 
lol, nobody is going to code you the whole thing, but if you have any issues they will help you thats for sure

I'm sorry for you in this case and if you have a valid Photoshop licence you do your GFX work on then you have even more of a right to be angry. If it's illegal then your contradicting yourself a bit.
I found Dman's link checker posted on a site by some noob 20 minutes ago. It had 3 different copyright notices and links in it some of which say it can't be redistributed. None belonged to Dman the original creator who intended it to be free for everyone. That hasn't stopped him coding or releasing stuff.

Yes we do work for free but I'm not going to waste my time coding a single skin for an individual which get's a few hundred hits. I have coded unique skins such as the vBulletin 4 iPhone skin in the Webmaster Resource area which is the only one available anywhere. Read the replies on that. Their's not even one on vBulletin.org!
If you have a new unique revolutionary idea for a skin I'd be happy to code it. If it's for an individual site with nothing new or exciting then no sorry. In fact I'm coding some really cool cutting edge vB skins at the moment.
Their's loads of Search Engine scripts already available where you can specify the file type to search for. It's not unique so won't be doing it but as earlier if you have a unique idea that doesn't exist let me know.


Back on topic
I'm not against this idea it's just I can't see or think of enough quality people to have it. No point having a group for one or two people but that's not saying it's not an idea for the future.
