Removing Index.php

Hi guys

How do I remove index.php from my url, I've added the .htaccess file for mod_rewrite but index.php is still there.

why do you want to remove index.php ?
to get seo friendl url's ?
and dont delete index.php

Just install the free SEO then it will change to domain.com/forums.html

I've used the SEO built into IPB3, added the code to my .htaccess file like it says but my urls are as follows:

Code:

[U][/U]/forum/index.php?

Should be:

/forum/

And this:

/forum/forum/4-announcements/

Should be:

/forum/4-announcements/

Any ideas
