Excellent service!

I have been using redswitches for months now, and I have no intentions of moving.

I have a large netherlands LeaseWeb server through them, and at any time I can get 109MB/s download if enough upload is provided by the other end, and the maximum upload I have seen is 105MB/s.

Basically this is the fastest server I have ever had.

I came to redswitches after leasing servers from Private Layer, and let me tell you... The difference between the 2 are night and day.

Private Layer was a fantastic company with awesome people giving me great support every time.... But the speeds were always lacking during peak hours, and even when it was not peak traffic times, the speeds were still slower than my redswitches server.

If I downloaded anything from my server to my home with Private Layer during peak hours, I would get less than 200KB/s.

With my redswitches server, I can get over 7MB/s download (My home connection maximum advertised speed) almost at any time of the day, EVERY DAY.

I have experienced 0 downtime while using this server, and rock solid stability.

I know you might say something like, "yeah, but that is Lease Web giving you good service".... no no no, I pay less than I would if I leased directly from Lease Web, I get better support, and I talk to people that actually care about my business.

Glenn is a great guy and has never let me down when I file a sales ticket.
Gaurav is also a great guy and when I needed help, I got an answer literally 2 minutes later.


Before I went with redswitches, I was looking at EQservers.... I asked them some questions, I didn't like the answers. Then I started looking around. I had never even heard of redswitches before. I just liked the look of their prices, but DAMN I am so happy I ended up with redswitches.


I may sound a little overly positive in this review, but in all honesty, I just haven't experienced any negatives with redswitches yet.

Hopefully this gives everyone else something to think about. But I would like to add that my experience is only with the redswitches netherlands servers. We all know that luxembourg usually means server.lu and if you have ever had a server.lu server, then you know that those guys can be very lazy... so if you get a luxembourg server from redswitches and you run into trouble, please keep in mind that redswitches can only do so much. As for their German servers, my guess is that they come from hetzner... I have no experience with them, but I'm sure redswitches will treat you right.

I know people like to see reviews and similiar here and just want to make a little post of how its going for me, as this is the first time with Redswitches.
And yea, it might not go as planned. Got to talk to Glenn on skype at sunday, where we came up with a good server he could get me, it was fast and good replies and i was happy with the server we agreed to fix.
And as you can see on their first/main post in this thread "Setup Time: 1-2 Business Days" and so today i asked on skype how's it going, 3 hours later i got a reply the server unfortunately was out of stock and will have to wait to friday, thats 5 days after i ordered it.
I told him i cant wait that long, as i have another server right now that will expire on friday, and need to send files between my old and new server as i have to slow connection at home.

So he got me another server he said they have in stock, the only downside with that one is it doesnt have SSD as i wanted and was going to have on my server we agreed at first, but anyway, i might handle slow HDD for a month and then get a SSD server or something...
Anyway, all ended that i will go with that server and he will get back to me in 24 hours, so lets see tomorrow how its going.


Remember, Im not saying this is bad or good, just wanted to make a post here how its going for me, as alot of people want to know who never used RedSwitches before and see how they handle this.
RedSwitches might be a very good provider, we just have to wait and see how its going tomorrow, and i will for sure get back with more info, if you are intrested about that :)



Update edit: Well yea i got the server today, and i became really happy as they told me and delivered the server we agreed with first with SSD drives :D
But thats not everything, they provided me with the wrong OS on the server.... and i know some of you would say, its easy reinstall via their client portal. Well yea it is but when doing so, the raid 0 will disappear and i want it on my 2 SSD drives, therefore i created a ticket which they replied to pretty fast (25min) and said they are going to reinstall it and fix the raid 0.... and that reply was now 4 hours ago.
I dont know, but it should not take more than 1 hour to reinstall OS and install a software raid?
So dont know what they are doing now or if they just have very slow support. Well guess we will see how it goes tomorrow... remember i ordered and paid the server at sunday, so tomorrow its 4 days. Not really the fastest server delivery.

Update edit2: well only 4 hours later they send me new details and with ubuntu and raid 0 :) Lets now see how good the server is! :D

First of all, Thank you very much for the detailed review. Appreciate it.
I apologize for the delay. All our orders are usually processed or setup within 24 hours from ordering. There are many happy clients around who will vouch for the same.
However there was a delay in processing your order, reason being we received an exceptional amount of new orders due to the offer posted above your post.
We were expecting some fresh stock this week which was delayed due to some technical issues from the data center.

We promised you 1-2 Business Days Setup. You had ordered the server on Sunday and we delivered the server on Wednesday 2:30 AM. Considering 2 Business days setup time, technically we were 2 Hours and 30 Mins late in delivering the server. We will make sure this does not repeat.

Regarding re installing your server, We had to perform a manual re install to setup raid 0 and it takes a while for our data center technician to manually re install the server.

Hope you are happy with the server's performance.
