I think you can try including rapidshare and megaupload links as people love to download from there.

And when ppl like your upload, they reply, and there's a high chance that your thread will get bumped up more regularly

Although you might risk losing download counts from other filehosts but I think as long as your thread stays alive, you can get more downloads

Upload niche. which means choose a category that you like and stick to it. You like movies? Games? anything you like then stick to it. People will then know you as the "movie guy". Sorta like nCode
