I've started developing in Python recently. So far I'm quite efficient in developing plugins for xChat for the IRC ninjas and some trivial stuff with is suited for Python.

Note: The applications developed will be CLI only (in case of Python). The xChat plugins can be loaded via xChat.

Would you be willing to work on pyload?
It doesn't need a GUI.

You should download the source and see if it fits you.
Imo Pyload has some potential.
