Just go with an xbox mate, if its for your kid then thats the one to go for. Such good fun and easy to use. So many great games and much cheaper than the ps3. Your dont need to know specs and crap cause it dont really matter. The red ring of death stuff is old now, there is a low chance of getting it unless your keep your xbox next to a radiator and keep it on for like 1 week non stop. Bottem line, fun, friendly and family. Xbox! :D

i have had 2 360s but i currenly have a ps3 tbh i like both of them the 360 is more of a social experiance but the ps3 has bbc iplayer and much more capabilitys and features hard to chose though it go for...... XBOX 360
Thats proberly because that 30% of consoles were bought before 2007, when i think they fixed the problem and or because they are modded. Modded consoles are shown to cause the rrod more than a normal one.
I own both and dont really play on my playstation 3, but iv left it on over night before no problem whereas the Xbox, i just hate the noise it makes as soon as i put a disc in.

Only if you want it to be. You can connect a controller and your TV and you have the same thing really but with all the other stuff besides gaming PC's can do. Multi purpose HTPC's ftw <3. And if you really wanna go for it:
But all this is just a matter of personal preference at the end of the day. Just remember that consoles are castrated PC's. Anything that can be done on/with a console can be done with a PC but that doesn't go both ways. The consoles are cheaper argument is also false, unless you're gonna throw away the console after buying 5 games.

I have a ps3 and my mate has an xbox 360. I prefer the ps3 far more. The controller is much more comfortable over then 360's. The user interface is much easier to navigate and is simple & sexual. It looks much nicer than the 360 (I had the old ps3 & now have the slim 120gb) Its Online is free :D And i don't see any difference between ps3 online & 360's online apart from you have to pay for the 360. Also the PS3 still have alot to come as for the 360 it is past its prime in the way of updates go.
