Please help with Nameserver Setup

Well I recently purchased an unmanaged VPS & well now I've been trying to setup the DNS Templates to configure with my domain but with no success. The admin panel is LxAdmin (Kloxo) & the domain registrar is name.com ANY help would be deeply appreciated. you can edit the a host record in you name.com account. you don't need to setup dns server on the dns.

point your domain to your main ip.

So in the A-Record, for hostname i'd put 'ns1' in the blank & the VPS's IP for the Value Box?

No, the NameServers still come out as (SERVFAIL) :S

Here are the normal steps:

1. Login to Domain Register Client Area (My domain provider is Namecheap.com)
2. Click Manage Domain (yourdomain.com)
3. Register Nameserver
4. Create or Modify a nameserver ns1.yourdomain .com > youripaddress
5. Go to domain nameserver and point it to your newly created nameserver (ns1.yourdomain.com) or leave it the same if you just modified the IP address.
6. Update the information in Lxadmin

Nameserver setup:
ns1 - Arecord - serverip1
ns2 - Arecord - serverip2 or 1

Domain:
main domain to serverip1
* - Arecord - serverip1
www - Arecord - serverip1
