Why not FileFox?


UltimA said it in another thread a while back you need about 50K to start and operate a file host for the short term. I think if you have a affy program it will probably require more then that for the first 6 months.

u can't run filehosting site via buying servers online
u need to go to the datacenter and place ur own servers there !!!! and pay the price
that will be very less than the price taken by online dedicated servers sites

u will only have to pay the electricity charge and bandwidth ...not hardware bcoz it's urs
 
lol i know alot of people opening their own private fileshosts to promote their own illegal content.

What are the implications off this if it is small time and low profile

Exactly - start small - if you will go for OVH servers with high capacity - fill the space and then go on to purchase another server.

Why get all the servers to begin with ? One step at a time mate.

On my calculation -

2 Dedicated servers with Each 30TB HDD, 100Mbp Unmetered for Free Users (Download speed 1-8MB, tested on 1000 people parallel download) - Using fro Free Users. Cost = $250 each.

2 Dedicated servers with Each 30TB HDD, 1000Mbp 500TB BW for Premium Users (Download speed 15+MB, tested on 1000 people parallel download) - Using fro Free Users. Cost = $500 each.

means 250+250 = {500 + (500+500)} = 1500$ Cost

Script + 2 People on support + update + Daily manage + Others = 150$

Means 1500+150 = 1650$ Monthly Cost.

Earnings -
From ADS = 200$ Aprox

Means we have to cover 1650-200 = 1450$ From Premium Accounts. Possible if we add Paid for Signup..
