I have used both vBulletin and phpBB. vBulletin used to be my favorite but phpBB has beaten it now. I would suggest you go with phpBB. If you need help feel free to ask

I like VB 3.8.x but eventually will die soon,

I use to run PHPBB before, great script but as everyone else mentioned is a pain in the ass to install plugins then upgrade.

never tried IPB from a backend side but on sites that run it, they look very smooth so I say go for it,

stay away from vb4

vB is more secure than phpbb3 so for safety you should pick vbulletin

main aim is to use a beautiful theme and unique mods so dont u guys think that PHPBB3 Dosent have these kind of stuff cause i had a very very experience with PHPBB3 i dont like there themes as for VB they rock for themes what do you guys think ?

for paid, i suggest ip.board as it is better than vb (also proved on that benchmark)
for free script, phpbb is all
based on the secunia records they maybe has best mark overall
but as stated before
right now to install mod on phpbb feels like pain in the ass

Go for VB. Mods are easy to find. Just search google for forumscriptz or vbteam
