Just out of interest, which version do you use?

The reason I ask is because I could code WCDDL2 to use various PHP5 features but it won't work in PHP4 if i do.

Although, i dont think it works in PHP4 now anyway (if anyone can confirm that).

You'd be surprised, a LOT of servers still run PHP4 because the owners are too lazy to update.
Man how can people be so lazy to just run one command to get PHP updated xD
Yeah cant wait for PHP6, think they finally got rid of safe mode.
Yes. It'll get rid of the safe_mode :) probably a nice move as alot scripts require safe_mode to be disabled. But, then what will be its alternative ?
PHP5, definitely.

Bear in mind that PHP6 isn't too far around the corner.
When is it exactly releasing ??? =))

There will be no alternative. And the reason of getting rid of safe_mode isn't because some scripts require it to be disabled.

First of all, please reply only if you know what is going on. Don't post because you just want to post.
Secondly, many scripts DO require Safe Mode to be ON.
PHP Safe Mode means
The PHP safe mode is an attempt to solve the shared-server security problem. It is architecturally incorrect to try to solve this problem at the PHP level, but since the alternatives at the web server and OS levels aren't very realistic, many people, especially ISP's, use safe mode for now.
So I guess people who run big ISP require safe mode to be ON.
Got it ?
If you still don't know why Safe Mode is required then read here :
http://php.net/manual/en/features.safe-mode.php
And also if you don't know PHP then go here : http://php.net/

Hope understand it in someday xD lol

They must have got a better alternative.

Note : FYI This is not racism

Safe mode is a broken feature (in PHP's words, not mine).

It was made to make the environment safe but just complicated things.
No alternative is needed.
