Majority of hosts might have updated their servers to PHP5. No one would be running of PHP4![]()
Man how can people be so lazy to just run one command to get PHP updated xDYou'd be surprised, a LOT of servers still run PHP4 because the owners are too lazy to update.

When is it exactly releasing ??? =))PHP5, definitely.
Bear in mind that PHP6 isn't too far around the corner.
Yes. It'll get rid of the safe_modeprobably a nice move as alot scripts require safe_mode to be disabled. But, then what will be its alternative ?
PHP 6.0 is already out in beta right?PHP5, definitely.
Bear in mind that PHP6 isn't too far around the corner.
First of all, please reply only if you know what is going on. Don't post because you just want to post. There will be no alternative. And the reason of getting rid of safe_mode isn't because some scripts require it to be disabled.
So I guess people who run big ISP require safe mode to be ON.The PHP safe mode is an attempt to solve the shared-server security problem. It is architecturally incorrect to try to solve this problem at the PHP level, but since the alternatives at the web server and OS levels aren't very realistic, many people, especially ISP's, use safe mode for now.

Secondly, many scripts DO require Safe Mode to be ON.
