When you upload some image to Photobucket, the URL looks like this:

Code:
http://XXXXX.photobucket.com/albums/XXXX/username/albumname/image.png

Is there any way to remove the Username and Album name from the URL?

Nope, but you can make the album private, which would prevent someone from seeing all of your photos.

P.S. Use random names for your photos if you're going to use Photobucket for private photos such as ID scans, credit card scans or anything that would reveal your identity.

Never upload them directly from your mobile phone or PC with names like these:

  • IMAGE_xxx
  • PHOTO_xxx
  • PIC_xxx
  • PICTURE_xxx
Or anything similar, such combinations can be guessed easily.

Yes, I'm using this Scramble file name feature.
But the URL structure really sucks because it reveals just too much while I would have liked my username/album name to be private.

Unfortunately, there's no other way when it comes to Photobucket. But, you can always switch to Imgur.com - I use it daily, and by default it doesn't create a public gallery, all of the photos you upload remain stored privately unless you create a gallery.

Also, its URI structure is quite simple, example: http://imgur.com/U9p4e

That photo is uploaded by me like 3 months ago, and as you can see - there's no username in the short or direct link.

Yes mate I use imgur too, actually its my favourite. But wanted some site that never deletes images. Imgur does delete inactive images, minimum criteria being at least 1 view in 6 months.
