What is germany's stance on websites which host outdated roms (nes, snes etc)? Im thinking of getting a german server, since 40% of my traffic seems to be in that sorta direction.

Questions -

If Germany classed as offshore?
Is it safe-ish for files.
What would happen if someone reported my site to the authoritys.

You should consider servers located in netherlands latency between holland and germany are really low.

Germany can be considered as offshore, but most german compagny don't allow "warez/files sharing" anymore.

Note also german authority are not friendly, if you live in germany you should avoid german hosting.

I used to have a VPS (santrex) in germany and noticed a decrease in traffic, im guessing people in certain countries are blocked by particular german data centres.

Im not living in Germany ^^

And my host is brilliant guy, i must had that <3 And the prices are cheap as hell, see here -

If you guys could find me a host that ~
Beats the prices on that above thread. Since i need at least 150GB of space.
OffShore (Obv.)

My host knows i host warez, and hes okay with that, its if someone reports my site to teh police or something.

Germany is no longer a safe place for warez, especially if you are hosting warez. i pay about the same for a dedicated server with 2gb ram and a 320gb hard drive in luxumberg, i use server.lu

Why russia? Netherlands, Hong Kong and Sweden are the safest places by far, shared hosting in Hong Kong isn't too expensive nor is a VPS.
