New Notification system PHPBB - How much should i sell!

Ok all ive been working on a notification system for phpBB!

The system will
  • Improve activity on your site!
  • Increase social commmunity effect!
  • Adds a whole new feature to your fourm!

At the Moment the notification is not finished but heres some of the features !

If the user is logged in the live notifications are shown dynamically if there not the notifications will not be marked as seen and when the user next logs in he will see a notification link with a notification count!

he can then proceed to the notifications page witch will list all there notifications!

they have the option to mark all read, they have the option to delete all!

The notification system currently supports:
  • USERNAME has sent you a new private message titled TITLE
  • USERNAME has also replied to the private message TITLE
  • USERNAME has replied to the thread TITLE
  • Registration was successful, Welcome to SITENAME - We hope you enjoy your stay

This alone will increase forum activity dramatically!

Ok so how much do you think this is worth if a sell to certian users and what other things can be implemented !

Why do you want to sell it you will be the 1st person ever to sell a mod for a free forum

Plus their is already a mod that posts a notification in the shoutbox when something is posted on the forum and its free :S to me that seems more effective than annoying popups
 
those who want this, should just go on phpbb forums and request for mod like this im sure it would be made for free in no time.
 
not really!

look at the amount of people want the latest topics mod that Wjuntion has!

this is more user direct! witch IMO its worth money!
 
lol nobody wants to pay for anything i can understand but when im doin with this im not just going to give it away!

its a pretty awsome mod and im even thinking of implementing a You have been called to the chat area by USERNAME! click here to go there !

just general whats going on!
 
that is actually pretty good work, i dont know why people these days wants everything for free... Of course there are many free open source available but remember they also have paid modification, templates etc. lite if i had phpbb i was definitely going to buy this mod from you ... to appericiate your work and on other hand its a really handy mod.

that's very true.
But I have not seen any mod that is "worth to buy". Since phpbb has been open source since the start. The reason it can stay open source for so long and imo be one of the best boards is because people share their ideas.
If you sell it, it's only a matter of time until people will just either 1 - copy you, or 2 - just "warez" your mod.

In a marketing perspective, sure you can sell it, go ahead; but you would need more things to go with it. Not sure how much it would sell for.
