The mystery surrounding Sony’s (SNE) PlayStation 4 will soon dissipate when the company unveils its next-generation video game console on February 20th. Meanwhile, Microsoft’s (MSFT) upcoming rival console is still very much a mystery, though pieces of the puzzle continue to come together. The latest report comes from Edge, which cites multiple unnamed people with “first-hand experience of Microsoft’s next generation console” in claiming that the new Xbox will require an always-on internet connection to check disc registration in order to function. The report reinforces earlier rumors that Microsoft will restrict or even completely block owners’ ability to play used games.
Edge also reaffirms specs reported earlier, including a 1.6GHz eight-core AMD CPU, D3D11.x 800MHz graphics and 8GB of RAM, and it says we should expect a new Kinect sensor to launch alongside the console.
Microsoft’s next Xbox is expected to be unveiled during the E3 gaming conference this summer.

i know microsoft gonna do this but there are still heavy audience of fans playing online, in xbox u cant play online smoothly unless you update your dashboard & have original disc,

i bet ps3 gonna do something same after the custom firmware 4.30 for ps3 by rogero which lets u go online even on hacked one...

PC = FTW

This "used game rumour" surely can't be true. Because that is a complete dick move from Microsoft!!!! If it is true, then there must be more to it. Blatantly refusing to support "used games" will encourage hackers to crack the system even more - just to enable this feature... and even worse for Microsoft, it will alienate a lot of loyal fans to switch over to Sony - As long as Sony doesn't do this too of course.

I won't be buying this system if these rumours are true, my friends and I are always swapping & buying 2nd hand games.

Hmmm, thinking about it, imagine all the scams that will be on eBay... So called "New" games, might not be "New", and then we'll be forever more making claims with Paypal.
This is ridiculous! Can't be true. PLEASE DON'T LET THIS BE TRUE!!
