is it just me that would like to see a mobile version ? this site is very cumbersome to use on a mobile and looks very broken (talking about the shout box). all the gif ad's uses lots of data and take forever to load, Mobile is a big part of the internet these days.
would also like to see the file host section removed and this site turned back into a webmaster forum, File hosts have very little to do with being a webmaster and mainly promotes illegal file uploading, cashing out from uploading someone else's content which is immoral illegal and wrong. But can't see that happening any time soon. the IQ level and activity in this place has dropped because of this and it's a shame. I learnt so much from this site and would like to see it back to it's former glory.

Everything in this text represents my, and my own vision for future of this forum.
Again, I repeat, this is my vision of WJ.
- Upgrading to a better system, either vBulletin 4.x or IPB, securing system, daily backup.
- Better password reset option, that would regularly be forced (once in 3-6 months), without ability to use any of previous passwords, forcing using lower and upper case, numbers, special chars AND space.
- Getting personal blogs option, so every member can have it's own personal blog.
- Getting blog/news in place as a front page.
- Getting mobile theme.
- Removing ability to provide advertising platform for non registered businesses, but keeping marketplace as it currently is, without possibility to advertise shady-like stuff of any kind. Locking marketplace to be moderator approved only, so no mess in that section. No more post without all required details, etc..
- Precisely written rules, always accesible for needed sections. Did I heard Ajax?
- Redesigning respected member rank a bit.
- Adding lots of new ranks such as: News Editorial staff, Community Leaders, Community moderators, Helpers, Sponsors...
- Thread suggestion while you type title. If there's a similar thread, you'll see it, and it would eventually reduce dupe threads.
- Removing/merging/adding sections on this forum for better organization. Creating sections before users need to ask for them, so, if they need it, it's already there.
- Axe-like cutting warez/DDL/uploading/linking/promoting and all other services related to this branch through all sections of this forum. This would probably require all signature and profile links reset.
- No services that provide uploading/downloading only functions, such as rapidleech/torrentflux, etc...
- Redesigning a decade old logo to fit this century.
- Main focus would be given to webmasters, and everything they require.
- Section introductions such as Affiliate programs discussion, that would be separated per program. (CPA, CPC, Email marketing...)
- truely engaging facebook, twitter and google+
Again, I repeat, this is my vision of WJ.
vB 4, or any vB product for that matter, sucks. Don't change, it'll be ugly as fuck.

M, you should sell this website before it's too late.
Let's be honest, most of the quality members joined when the Katz guys ran this place, usually through KatzForums/Katz.cd. Ever since Katz shutdown, the people that register tend to be uploaders or those weird non-English speaking people that disappear after a while.
You have nothing that attracts good members. Once more Katz-era members move on, you will be left with a forum full of non-English speaking uploaders discussing where to upload porn. They too will move on when making money with filehosts becomes a thing of the past.
Of course you can attempt to innovate and try to attract good members to the site, although I think that's unlikely to succeed.
If you disagree, let me point out that out of the 13 or so members that posted in this thread giving feedback, 12 are from the Katz era. The majority of users online at the moment are not. When you have a small and dying group of members keeping the community spirit "alive" (through chatting in the chatbox, general area, debates, etc), you have a problem.
As these Katz-era members move on, the site starts to feel a lot smaller than it really is. That's why people say the site is "dying" even though we see 150+ people online; the people that contribute to the community are disappearing and there's not enough new good members to replace them.
For those of you in staff who think this can be changed, goodluck.
Sell this thing for $XX,XXX whilst you still have some semblance of a "community".

So many of us helped build this forum in the golden days before half of the staff that have positions now were even here,
Ive seen so many changes, so many new things, so many people be staff, so many demotions, so many bans lol?, so many fights.
Its un-real, If you want this forum to stay alive get rid of the file host this is a webmaster forum but that is the most un-professional thing about this forum,

Filehost are here because they know this place is a heaven for warez sites owners, it will make them money, but it will destroy this place.

/Sorry my feelings are hurt over this place, I kind of spent a endless amount of days here for about two years.
And you would' see a rise in activity of which you would not think is possible, Along with contribution and growth i guarantee it.

I do not agree with switching the forum over to IPB. It's not necessary, a new design, logo and modifications can make this site come back to life again. IPB is just meh in my opinion. Again it all boils down to what you do with what you have.
Respected members in these current times should indeed go to people who are respected, active, professional & can contribute by bringing people here and who have followings. I agree with that statement.
As far as the site "dying" and without hope. This is ridiculous. Just because the Katz era is over with doesn't mean that the site is dying. There are so many things that can be done to convert this site into a true new powerhouse. It's called being agile and adapting to what's going on. WJ hasn't done much in a long time, it's bottled up, re-investment is very low, people with vision are slow walked. I don't care if I was the only member here on WJunction.com I would turn this place into a powerhouse again.
M. is willing to work on this community, we are not collaborating to bring new things to this community for no reason. Big things are in the works. Suggestions and recommendations that are in public eye are but only a few of many that will really change this around.

I did'nt mean to say this site will die but if "HUGE" changes are not made such as get rid of filehost its going to become more un-actitive to actual and real webmasters, I mean if i would not have been on here since 2009 if i came here to day to register and saw post after post about a file host id turn away.

Im not getting my people don't want to move to IPB. I mean seriously guys? vBulletin just came up with their fifth version, and its the crap-iest thing ever made. On the other hand IPB has a HUGE successful production level and with that not being enough, they work on their new version, IPS4...

A couple things I think should be looked into..
- Simplicity, elegance, that's what a website needs
- Re-work the categories, putting more importance into the 'Webmaster' part
- Bring back the portal with unique articles
- Send out a bi-weekly newsletter with cool stuff
- Give members a reason to come to the site (Unique tutorials, giveaways, etc)
- Have something fun for devs and coders (Competitions)
- Same goes for graphics members ^
