Need help coding HTML/CSS

Okay well im trying to get into Web Dev and obviously the first thing id start doing is HTML and CSS.
Ive run into my first hiccup that i cant figure out. Basically one of my Divs are overlapping another for some reason?
Ive uploaded all the necessary files here-

EDIT: youll also notice that the template has drop shadows on it, unfortunately i have noo idea on how to code these so any pointers would be appreciated
EDIT2:fixed it , finally. i think i used float:right; instead of float:left;
but yeah tis all good, but i still got no idea on coding the drop shadows
