Yea both are same. They are used interchangeably. I guess one using xen for virtualisation is termed a VDA.
Also vds have more resources and few customers on a node than a VPS.
VDS refer to more premium type VPS setups -- usually just higher in resources. Sometimes it also means higher-end virtualization. The VDS just has higher specs, and higher degrees of isolation.
