Hey =)

I noticed that one of my servers MySQL is causing the CPU to spike for some reason. I thought of moving it to another server to even the load, but i kind of do not want to do that yet if i can fix the problem.

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
18253 mysql 20 0 43468 20m 4156 R 212.4 0.5 25:07.32 mysqld

As you can see, mysql is using 212% CPU, it keeps spiking for some reason and i haven't been able to figure out why.

If anyone could help me that would be great =)

It'll be some horribly coded script like wordpress.

Really nice to look at but a pile of crap behind it.

Look for any badly coded scripts, apply caching to them (not the query cache, i mean code caching into it, using memory or files) or scrap 'em.

Could mess around with my.cnf too. Stuff related to "_limit", e.g. query_cache_limit and such.

yah i had a user who had wordpress and a bunch of plugins for some reason made the server load go to like 50
if i suspended him it went down. So he took em out.

Maybe you should hire someone to optimize your mysql for you...
Would help a lot and decrease a lot on your useage if it is done properly.

That should have been done already, guess the person who i asked to do it didnt do it properly!!
who can do it? And i really don't feel like "hiring" anyone. I would do it myself if i knew the problem lol
