Alright, so my friend.. Let's call him John shall we?
John, he's 15 years of age and still goes to school. The school he goes to provides laptops for each student. - the students have to buy the laptop themselves.
John decides to visit some porn sites while he's at home and accidentally stumbles across child pornography.
The school finds out about the child porn John downloaded by accident and sends him to court.

What do you think the charges will be?

I'm not sure, but he could provide evidences of the sources he gets from, so the charges will be that weighty. But still, I am not sure, I've never come across violations like these. So I do not know the circumstances..

Was the download an accident ?

First of all he can't search for porn since he isn't 18+, then plus the fact that he searches for child porn, well I think he is going to jail...
 
if he is 15 and he downloaded child porn? isnt that like he downloaded porn ? :)) most he will get is some years with suspension
 
you can still get charged with possession of child pornography when you're a juvenile. i remember a case where a 15 year old male got charged for having a 15 year old females naked photographs on his cell phone.

but yeah. it's too early to go into this. but there's a very real possibility your friend john is straight up FUCKED.
 
I really hope "Johnnie" isn't you Goober, because he will not only go to jail but he'll also get buttraped daily.
