In the last 6 months to a yr I have seen a lot more sites have a msg that says your using a ad blocker disable it you disable it for that site and clear your cache and refresh the site and you still get that msg lame. Blocking ad blockers is a really bad idea you do not want to drive away 40% to 50% of your hits. I never never been able to view one of these site when I see this msg I disable my ad blocker on everyone of these site and I still can not view these sites :faceplam:

Where are you getting these stats?
Why is it lame they want you to view ads to pay their bills? They probably don't want you using bandwidth if they get nothing?
Tested it and it seems to work just fine with Antiblock.org - Anti Adblock Script

Most people do not want to see any ads that is why they use a ad blocker. Youtube is crazy with there ads they do not block ad blockers that is they way site should do find other ways to make money

I use the ABP extension on Chrome to block advertisements purely for my own convenience. It blocks the well placed integrated Facebook ads too, for example.

From a webmaster point of view it seems pointless to try and inconvenience visitors that are using adblock; unless you're providing some expensive resource for an out of pocket cost.

If someone is adamant on using an ad-blocker while viewing my web page, I'd rather let them view clean content as opposed to flooding them with JavaScript. Where as they may have obtained the information required and possibly shared the site with someone else, they sure as hell won't do that with a bunch of obtrusive messages - ones they want to block in the first place!

But where were the stats for those percentages and timelines you were posting?

Also where's the stats about most people use adblock? I don't. Rox just said he doesn't.

Quit your bitching if you're freeloading all the time. This is the same stuff you were complaining about over a year ago.
