Memory=20 ???? Wordpress.

I guys I was tring to install the Wordpress but each time after installation I was getting this error in /WP-Admin/

Error

Enternal server error .


then i googled it and i found this ..

1. Create a text file named php.ini
2. Write this code -- memory=20MB
3. Save the file
4. Upload the php.ini to your blog directory under /wp-admin/ folder

SO what i want to know is What dose memory=20MB stands for ????

into my VPS... well from that Memory=20 stuff i got my Wordpress Fixed ... but im just Curious what is it ???

That is the max memory size available from your Ram to be allocated to Wordpress, probably it was set to too low before so that wordpress or some plugin or a script or php file wasnt able to execute due to less memory available for use then it needs

PS: you should set it to 32 or 64 just to be safe for future
