I've seen lots of people asking about the goods and bads of Megabot, I personally have received 3-4 PM's asking about the same, so I thought of giving a review of my own.
I've been using the bot for more than 6 months now. The order process is simple, open a ticket at megabot.us, pay the 100$ for your script and the bot will be installed onto your server in less than 24hrs. My setup was done overnight and I was good to go. The initial setup was pretty simple. Basically you have to add your filehosts credentials, add the rss feed from your desired torrent tracker, create an upload profile in order to configure your requirements, add your website if you have any, and you are good to go! It took me like 20-30 minutes to setup around 3 feeds.
If you are a forum poster or use themaposter, your job is easier as well. It creates a .txt file in your server. You just need to drop it to your category folder in themaposter and it will do the rest for you, 2 mins work I suppose?!!
Coming down to the support. Yes, it had its issues during a specific time. The support used to be absent for a whole week or so. I talked to the guy who did my setup on gtalk, and he responded saying that his partner was out and he was the sole person taking care of things. Now he is back completely and for the past one month or so I've not faced any problems with the support. In fact he is quick with his responses. I told him to make me the plugin for upstore, and it was done withing hours. Your upload plugins request are dealt at a fast pace so if there are any filehost/imagehost you need to added then its done promptly. Secondly, if you are not satisfied with your server and you wanna change it (which happens till you find a stable host!) then he does it overnight, keeping the same settings as you had before, thus saving your time in configuring it again. On top of that he is very cool guy to talk and lwys ready to help you out in things which are not related to Megbot, so kudos to him for that.
Do I recommend it? Yes, I completely do. At 100$ lifetime, its a steal. If you are an uploader, and want to reduce your time of work, then this tool is for you.
My server recommendations :
For a dedicated : Redswitches. I was with them for a couple of months when I was in warez and it was great. Nice speed, awesome support and low prices.
For a VPS : Scopehosts. Ive used them in the past for other things and now using them for Megabot as well and they have never dissapointed me. For heavy uploaders, who will be crossing 20TB, look for something else I guess as Scopehosts has a limit of 20TB bw, confirm it though, I'm not sure as I never reach even close to it!
