USA can seize any domain name if it's registrar is a friend to the americans.
Just make sure you use a trustable registrar and you should be fine, even with a USA domain name (but yes, a dot ru domain would be much safer)
You can always use a reseller for double protection (nic dot ru domain name reseller).

LOOOOL, maybe next time give people advice to use only IP :P because US can TANGO DOWN everything in whole world XD

I lost my money for a month (few more) and even do not get my database in Russian hosting. So, I lost many users and posts from my site ( http://www.gay-pirates.com ). I understand that the content is heavy, but their rules are allowed and they agreed.
You think there are no intelligence? It is! But they just want a cash.

For example, I checked lionweb. ru /vps.php (I know one guy, who use it. He sad it is not so bad as more) and my host http://balticservers.com/ .
If you have so much money (500-700 a month), I highly recommended http://balticservers.com/ .

I confirm what Okone said I lost 2 servers in Russian datacenter.

Russians are cheaters they are after cash only. and the reason of suspension was because of an automated message from Microsoft :facepalm:

Russia is no longer offshore, if you want to hide yourself or ignore DMCA 
We could give you server to check it out, just PM me. Most hosters in Russia are not sutable for international folks from WJ. We are specializing in international people and first hands for Russian servers, many WJ people have servers with us for years, all are smooth and reliable.
2x4 are good too, but servers range and prices... baltic servers are still in EU, it will be nice what they will do if UGG guys will limit they PP by simple claim or someone will just ask some lawers in Riga to help em.
