RUM: Rapidshare Uploads Manager

I used to use VLC but now since the quality wants to be shitty when you maximize the window, i use Media Player Classic Homecinema x64 and it's much better.

Seriusly suse, build it off debian/ubuntu (Ubuntu has a liveCD tool) and it would get much more interest. + I would help develop.

And the big difference is? I've used both, a lot, but I prefer openSUSE. It's taste, debian based brings you more pre-build packages but that's it. What is there in SUSE that would make it impossible for you to develop for it?

It's all Linux in the end, and this one goes where we take it. On top of that, Ubuntu 9.10 has to much issues + it's slower, not a lot but it is.

thats why I said /debian.

I cant live without debian build tools and apt-get, yum is the worst package manager I have ever seen and used.

Yum has nothing nothing to do with openSUSE FYI :).

An example:

Debian:
Code:
apt-get update
Code:
apt-get install foo

openSUSE:
Code:
zypper ref
Code:
zypper in foo

Ohh the horror :p. But yeh, it's taste I suppose, though I can't honestly think of one reason for it having to be debian. Everything that runs on debian runs on SUSE, and, everything has a counter part that's just as easy. Atleast give it a try when I'm done with it.

Also, if you're interested in having your image uploader shipped with it let me know in time (Using Gnome).

yeah im interested, hmm zipper what package format does it use. I just gained more respect for openSUSE seeing that its not yum/rpm based.

BTW what is the licence on opensuse? GNU GPL?

I don't think it has a license ATM, oddly enough:
http://zonker.opensuse.org/2008/11/26/opensuse-sports-a-new-license-ding-dong-the-eulas-dead/

But the openSUSE license wouldn't matter since I am not required to adopt it. And I think I'll go for GPL v2. But again this will have no effect on your software, only if something becomes an actual part of the OS or someone decides to use the OS as base for another OS or something of that nature. Yes, I'm bad with legal stuff, lol.

No I was just wondering because I figured I would offer to host it for you on my OVH unmetered server.

Just needed to see if it had a licence assosiated.
Ill send you a background image I made just now too :P

Ill also do some work to perfect the uploader (C# one) today for the linux side of things, we also have a firefox extension too now if you are interested.

That's cool, really appreciate that <3. Btw, it does work with RPM's, but zypper and YaST2 are awesome. I mean, I like Ubuntu, that and SUSE are the only distros I consider to be mature and fun to work with. So trust me, if package management was a bitch in there, I wouldn't use it either :). And what's also nice to know, SUSE = Novell, Mono = Novell.

As for the firefox plugin, sure, though I'd need to check it out first. I'll have a look at it later since I'm rather bussy ATM.
