Can anybody tell me how sale value can be related with ranking?

For Example

60 sales and ur position/rank is 550 == Sale value is 10.00

60 sales and ur position/rank is 250 == Sale value is 20.00

Can any one explain me the theory behind it.

Sale value should should be same for same quantity of sales.
