Left School :D

So does this mean that if everyone quit school will get a nice job?
Going to school is not a waste of time, the school is not there for the lessons only.

The school was a shit place. I did not like school, and I'll never like it. 2 of 4 people stop going to school before they graduated.

I think the whole system is terrible. Poor program. Poor follow-up, etc.

I left school after junior high school. After the tenth grade. I was bored. Teachers were hopeless, I felt like I threw away my "precious" time. We learned nothing. I certainly learned nothing. I got a job, and I was well liked, and I liked my job. I still like my job. My job is very important to me, and I get more and more responsibility at work. In two years, I get a certificate of apprenticeship in the profession. I've been lucky, and I'm going to get an OK salary when I'm done with apprenticeship certificate. I have the opportunity to start my own business a couple of years due to a lot of experience, determination, motivation and strength. There are opportunities for everyone. The school is not always the right answer for you. People are different, and it's a good thing.

Thank you!

@ all the users saying what a mistake and shit

My mates and cousins all left school early and now are doing apprenticeship joining, managers in rope access which pays a shit load and you get to go all round the world doing it.

I'd make more money leaving school now and working than I would staying on at school and going onto further education which I don't even want to do (at this time anyway) I will learn valuable skills that could help me get a job, just because you have 'qualifications' does not mean your going to get a job - does it? An interview is based upon you, your personality and the way you present yourself.

I also live in Scotland for all you that were wondering where I'm from.

Also, I didn't say I was wasting the teachers time I said they were wasting theirs on me because I didn't find I was learning anything worth my while. Which I wasn't, so why stay in education when your getting nothing from it when you can move to a job, earn money and learn skills you can use later in life?

PS: I didn't leave for uploading or anything online, I left because I got a full job at Arisaig Marine

well , i'm against the idea but since you don't learn anything from it i'm with you .
but , learn something like be carpenter or something .
Best luck <3 .

Bad move. You'll never make any decent money without a degree, let alone missing a diploma too.

Its easy breezy now because you get free food/shelter, and probably allowance money from your parents.

Good luck trying to pay for RENT, UTILITIES, INSURANCE, FOOD, GASOLINE later in life with a laborers pay wage. And unless you intend to be a hermit, don't forget the money you need to go out and hang out with your friends.

Throw in a family and some mouths of your own to feed, you're in for a miserable life.

You chose to smile now, but you'll be crying later. Go back to school.

all so true, so many responsibility after you turn 18.

I left school at the age of 14. I got 3 really bad grades, went to college, second day there I got moved up two years. Albeit I was lucky to get moved up two years but still, school isn't everything, as long as you got it what it takes you don't need qualifications, it's all about who you know and what you know.

Alan Sugar left school early and he has become ridiculously rich.

For the people who are telling you that you made a bad move, they clearly can't foresee the future as I believe no one at this current time has legit premonitions.

Yeah, I got a lot of shit from school as I suffer from anxiety attacks and depression, I wasn't an emo or anything stupid like that I just didn't like being around large crowds so it caused my anxiety to go haywire which lead to me never turning up, I missed nearly all of year 5 and year 6 turned up to about 3/4 of year 7 and from there on I basically never went to 'upper school' (it's now called secondary school).

So in the end I got a D for Maths, E for English and F for art as my grades, I then went to college about 3 years later (This was last year september) and they put me on the lowest IT course which was level 1 system support, I explained to them that it was below me but none of them listened then I was ranting to a support teacher and as my luck had it he actually had his own class in a town next to mine so he got me transferred to his class which was level 3 system support and I finished the first year with a Distinction star getting the highest grade in my class/college. It was amusing because he got told off by his higher ups for transferring me without consulting them first and now he gets to tell them about my grades.

If you have charisma and strive to achieve your goal you will get what you want. No matter what anyone else tells you.

This is a cliche used by people who couldn't get in college.

With a diploma is harder to be unemployed - even if you dont find a job in your field. There are some good statistics about it, at least in my country.

Regarding the OP, I think it was a bad move, man.
School is a good thing, not only for getting a job, but it will also decrease the chances of looking and behaving like a dumbass lol

Anyway, best of luck, I hope you succeed!

I'm actually on my last semester of college, and I'm currently working in the field I want to be. Its just my opinion, and I believe it to be true because the curriculum I've taken at school, maybe 1 or 2 classes can be applied to my job. Honestly, when will I ever apply anthropology or history to my career, never. When it comes down to it, a degree is simply something that distinguishes or filters you from other applicants who aren't willing to take that extra step to accomplish something. Even with a degree, if you suck balls at interviewing, no ones going to hire you. Like I said, it only helps you get an interview, not land the job.

Nice one man :)
I ended school with what are Intermediate 2's B in English, C in Travel & Tourism (In the UK A is highest the B, C etc..) Also, I make a good wage £315 p/week at this job so it is defo worth my while.

I agree and disagree with you as now in my country the school system is great but high school some times suck literally ie 12th as u said in your post that u have alot of free periods i also have those, its good that u are earning that much at an age of 16 but the that if your boss fires you then what will you do u can start your own business thats it u wont have any other option as u wont get a good paying job without a degree so i suggest get a job but half time if u hate school or the teachers are unable to teach you get some tutions that might help you or give the school exams privately as u will have your job as well as education
