could you please explain more regarding the automatic posting statement which you have mentioned. Here are some pros and cons of VB and IPB:

Pro vB:
>Reputation/karma
>Rate this thread
>Hacking community
>Extent of removing vB brand (i.e., can hide the software from my poachers)

Pro IPB:
>It looks great. And the emoticons. In this business, looks are pretty important, more important than many think--I know a lot of people won't notice the difference in the features, but will be drawn in by the look.
>Built-in dynamic homepage for main site.
>Multi-moderation (kind of automated) will be GREAT for my forum--I find I need to moderate many of the same type of reply.
>Topic splitting and merging works really well.
>Some cool minor features--multi-quote, and some others.
>AdminCP is pretty powerful.

Con vB:
Not keen on the new look. It's better, but I'll still be looking for custom graphics.
IPB is promising lots of new features that would make life easier for webmasters. But this could be literally years down the road.
I'm not worried about cost, just to get that out of the way.

Con IPB:
New company, fewer 3rd party people who know it and can hack it up.
Hard to get customization done, even if I want to pay. All of my requests for quotes have not been answered. In all fairness--I haven't tried to do this with vB, and I think Invision is trying to change this.

I strongly disagree with this. IPS is not new. They have a free, light weight system that is still in use from many moons ago.

The third party complaint may be half way justified, but the amount of documentation available to anyone who wants to learn is simply amazing. Developers for IP.Board are often booked on custom projects far, far in advance.

I recommend IP.Board. I've used the system for over 5 years and each and every release that comes out is so impressive. The extensible nature of IP.B alone makes it the front runner in my opinion.

IP.B has a lot of professional, social, and easy to use add-ons made by IPS themselves. Gallery, blog, nexus, and my favourite, IP.Content can transform a forum into a complete site quickly and painlessly.

Also, there are a lot of very nice templates available for IP.B that I have never seen vBulletin skinners match asides from Dominic.

Go with IPB since they have powerful admin panel and good SEO. And they have user friendly interface for members though. And easy to install plugins, hooks and every think in single click.

And lot of customization can be made. I am using IPB for past 3 years. It has pretty good inbuilt SEO. Which comes under 175$ only.

@thecrazyhost:
most of the things you specified as pro for ipb can do vbulletin, too.
Only the site thing is better on ibp, since the cms on vbulletin4 sucks as hell.

The community of vbulletin is much bigger & you can get lot's of help from 3rd Party people.
The people on the official forums are nice (for both sites) and helpful.

IPB will cost you every 6 month 25$ to get the updates.
on vbulletin you have to pay one time.

If you have an old community you probably have a vbulletin board, since in the beginning ipb was really shitty.
Now IPB is on the best way to do some really nice improvements. But they are a bit slow in adding new features
(as well as vbulletin is now - but vbulletin relies heavily on 3rd party plugins/add-ons)

it's more or less a personal decision.
VB and IPB can do nearly anything for you - for some features that ibp has, but not vb you need to add plugins in vb and vice-versa.

That actually cracked me up. *New Company*
My dear friend, IPB's initial launch was 2002 & vB's was 2000.
As per hacking is concerned, It's merely on the person hosting the forum.
Both of them aren't small firms.

It's actually about the addon features & customization options you're looking for @afsoongar_ghadiri.
Search for them & buy the one that suites you. ;)

IPB is a new company? LOL of the day.

Ontopic: IPB without a QUESTION! vB 3.8 was good, everything above it is pure shit. They just stuffed their old framework.

Only pure newbies would go for latest vB over latest IPB these days, that's a fact.
