Laptop not starting giving 3 beeps. Plz Help.

Hey guys i have a HP DV2000 laptop that just failed to start yesterday all of a sudden dont know wht the issue is.

I searched on the net and also replaced Ram with a new working one but still the same issue.

I dont see anything on the screen or anything. It just gives me the 3 beeps.

I got a review that i need to put the laptop to over heat at a place where there is no ventilation so i am trying that out. :P

have removed the hard disk for safety purposes.

Please assist what else it could be and how i can fix it.

don't worry bro. its a ram problem. just clean your laptop ram slot,.....! or remove ram from slot fix it again...and restart you laptop. best thing is cover your ram with heat pad..its only $1.90.

3 beeps a startup - is a sign of memory failure. If you have two memory modules you can swap out one and then the other to identify the bad one. Sometimes just removing and inserting the memory module will fix the problem. Be careful to ground yourself before you remove the module and try to NOT touch the metal prongs. Don't do this on a carpeted floor -that is sure to generate static electricity than can kill the memory..

Hey i checked my ram, and also cleaned everything... Also i have a heatpad. What happens is that when i start it i dont see anything on the monitor aswell :S

Ask someone to cleanup your lappy's heatsink...and were you having any overheating issues earlier..???

may be thats not correct
or ur mb has some prob

lol that thing worked for me,

i wrapped up the laptop on a big cloth and let it to overheat.

After that my battery died now when i started the laptop this morning its working fine :P

Hehe any ideas what the issue would be :P

lol its wierd i had opened everything and cleaned up everything also adjusted wires and stuff..

the thing that worked for me was to overheat the cpu, then later it worked.

so i am doing the same at the moment have wrapped it with a cloth and kept it on the site lets see for about some hours now let it get super hot :P

open ur lappy....take out the ram use to soft cloth to clean it insert it this must be great or else replace the ram and see

Hmmm not sure coz how comes i tried another ram from another laptop and it didnt work aswell :S

Yeah i also know that this is ram issue when there are 3 beeps but seems something else.

coz just right now i removed one ram and the laptop started working now again after shutting it down it doesnt work with that one ram. :S
