It depends where you are uploading/Downloading.
If you are uploading and downloading the files on the vps, then your 2 mbit line wont be a problem. But if you are downloading and uploading on your home computer, 1 Gbit vps wont benefit you.

Where do you operate the VPS from? Ok, you have paid for it, but if you live in a different country from where the server is, won't it be a problem?
