There is so much chatter about rooting phones online and I thought why not have a discussion thread about it here!

Are you using a phone which is rooted? If yes, please answer below questions to help us all understand rooting better. I am a starter in this scene!

1) What's your phone make?
2) OS?
3) How'd you root it?
4) Any custom ROMs worth a mention?
5) Has it really boosted your phone's performance?

Yes, i am using rooted phone since 2011
1) Rooting your phone help you to use many application which need root access.
2) Android 4.2.1
3) With The Help Of "ClockWorkMod" Recovery And "SuperUser"
4) Yes I am using CM 10.1 Modded For Samsung Galaxy Ace
5) Yes, of course
 
Before root your phone don`t forget something... you will lose your warranty. With some phones there is a ,,door,, you can unroot and people from company can`t see this phone was rooted. I have in past 6 phones and all was with android and 5 from this 6 was rooted.

5) Got many new features and removed some limitations

Rooting of mobile lose the waranty.
 
Galaxy Grand, rooted xD Performance is sexy after removing the bloatware and further optimizing the phone.

hey, can anyone teach me how to root? I searched it all over the internet, and I couldn't find a proper way, that does not have any risks..

please, tell me, where I can see the easiest way to root my HTC One S ? thnx in advance =]

U can google search for X D A developer forum... there have alot of tutorial and step to step guide to root ur phone.

2) OS? cyanogenmod
3) How'd you root it? just flash with cyanogenmod
4) Any custom ROMs worth a mention? miui is really great, specially the UI, but i prefer cyanogenmod
5) Has it really boosted your phone's performance? a lot
