IMO : The internet makes us smarter , more information

On the other hand the TV is a complete mess used to manipulate people. Not only that , the quality of the TV shows is worse than a pile of shit.

It really depends on what and how you use the internet. Id say just do to the large number of people who only use it for facebook, twiiter, ect that it does not make use smarter.
